East Los Angeles Dog & Cat Hospital

cat and dog in East Los Angeles, CA

From its modest roots in East Los Angeles, Casillas Veterinary Hospital has expanded into a comprehensive pet facility that offers superior quality care for a large number of pets. Our East Los Angeles Dog & Cat Hospital is dedicated to caring for your pet throughout its life, from puppy and kitten services to elder care. We know that regular veterinary visits are the key to keeping your pet healthy, and our caring staff is dedicated to making sure your pet has the best experience possible each time it comes into our offices.

Our Veterinary Office Offers a Wide Range of Services

Our team offers comprehensive care for your pet. Your pet needs veterinary care throughout its life, and we're dedicated to providing it to make sure your pet lives a long and healthy life. Some of the services we provide are:

Spaying and Neutering

Millions of unwanted dogs and cats are destroyed each year, and we're dedicated to doing our part in lowering that number. We recommend that all dogs and cats be neutered unless they're show quality pets designated for breeding. Pets can be spayed or neutered starting at six months of age, but it can be done successfully with adult pets, as well. Not only does this procedure help to reduce the unwanted animal population in our area, it will help your pet live a longer and healthier life.

Pet Dental Care

Your pet's mouth can be the key to continuing health care. We'll check your pet's teeth, gums and tongue as a part of its annual wellness exam. Many symptoms of poor dental health can be contributed to other, more serious, diseases. For instance, extremely bad breath can be a sign of internal infections, and loose teeth can explain unexpected sudden weight loss.

Even the best behaved pets can get an urge to explore the neighborhood once in a while, and pet theft is a growing problem throughout the country. Microchipping your pet won't guarantee its safe return, but it increases the odds immensely. Every shelter in the country checks animal for microchips during the initial intake exam, as do police departments. Having a microchip embedded means your pet can be returned to you when it's found. The microchip is a small device about the size of a grain of rice, and it's injected under the skin, much like a vaccine, making this a simple outpatient procedure.

Our expert team is dedicated to giving your pet the best care throughout its life. From annual wellness exams to emergency care, we're ready to give your pet the care it needs. We'll make sure your pet is up-to-date on vaccinations as well as caring for lifestyle issues such as obesity and elder care.
